In this corner, we have Randy “No Glasses, No Way” Kazandy! A fiery-redhead, boyish-of-boys fighter, determined to battle without any visual aids. And in this corner, we have Randy’s “You Can’t Break Me” Mom! She’s a patient and resilient fighter, determined to battle till she’s the victor.
In the storybook app, Randy Kazandy Where Are Your Glasses?, a young boy named Randy Kazandy is growing bigger and stronger every day, but his eyes just aren’t catching up. Much to his demise, Randy has to wear glasses, but finds ways to destroy them, thinking then, it’d be impossible to wear them. Oh, but Mom knew better! She was sure to bye extra pairs, replacing each wrecked glasses with a new set. Will Randy ever learn that he is missing so much when he doesn’t wear glasses?

Randy Kazandy Where Are Your Glasses?, is a transforming and humorous story for young kids (and adults, too), based on Rhonda Fischer’s book by the same name, illustrated by Kim Sponaugleby, and developed to be enjoyed on your device by the Auracle line of Auryn Apps. Randy Kazandy is available for the iPhone and iPad for $2.99.
There are three ways to read Randy Kazandy Where Are Your Glasses?:
Read to Me: Follow along as the text is read aloud, and each word is highlighted when spoken. When the narration is complete, your child can interact with the page by tapping on objects to see and hear the word. When your child is done interacting with a page, he or she may turn the page by swiping a finger across the screen.
Read Myself: No narration is spoken, so big kids can read on their own, or listen to the story read aloud by a parent. Kids can still interact with each page by tapping on objects, and also tap on words in the text of the story to hear the word spoken; great if he or she gets stuck.

Autoplay: This option is the same as “Read to Me” except that the pages will turn automatically. This is an excellent feature for your little one to enjoy the story on their own, while in the car or when you’re doing chores around the house.
You can also personalize the story; select the personalization option on the home screen, and you can record your voice reading each page, and even edit the text.
You can’t help but love Randy Kazandy, and his boyish tactics to try and win the battle with his mother. I loved the plot of the story, and the rhythm and rhyme of it worked perfectly. The illustrations are bright and expressive. The app as a whole is a winner!
Randy Kazandy Where Are Your Glasses?, is an incredible interactive storybook app, that your kids will relate to (whether they wear glasses or not), and shares an important message of loving who you are.
