I’ve reviewed apps in the past that help moms with newborns keep track of feedings, diaper changes, sleep time, etc., but this one is a bit different, and will be especially beneficial if you are a visual person.
BabyCorner, by MyScrapCorner ApS , is a very customizable, baby activity tracker app, that displays the time frames you log of those glamorous newborn baby events you partake in, like the number and type of diaper changes, nighttime sleep and naps, and feedings from bottles or breast, in convenient and quick to read graphs. The key, unique ingredient that sets this app apart from other baby tracker apps, is that you don’t have to tediously type in all the activities like a diligent note-taker; you just grab the icon of the desired activity, plug it into the timeframe it took place, and voila-see it in your day’s graph.

BabyCorner is available for the iPad and iPhone for $2.99.
Tips on how to use the app:
When you open BabyCorner, you will instantly see the visual of the bar graph for the day. Look at the activity icons at the top of the screen, and select the relevant one that represents the activity you would like to note. If you would like to edit the provided icons, go into the Settings option in the bottom toolbar, and remove and add the icons that are relevant for you and your child. There are some icons like bread for eating food, and a new tooth icon too, among others for older babies. You can even determine between wet and dirty diapers if you want to get specific, which is helpful when going to those frequent doctor checkups the first year, and your mind draws a blank because of how all our days seem to run together. It’s super handy to just whip out your phone, go to the Statistics tab on the bottom toolbar, and read the stats on your baby’s bowel movements to your doctor (lovely, i know).
After choosing the appropriate icon, plug it into the correct time slot. If you want to increase the amount of time of an activity, click on the icon in your graph, select the up and down arrow (on the bottom of the icon), and enlarge the activity in the appropriate direction. Move the icon by selecting the four-directional arrow icon on the top right-hand corner. When you select an activity in the calendar a little “+” (plus sign) appears in the upper left corner. If you press this plus sign, a small camera and a small microphone appear (if your device has a built-in camera). Pressing these small icons, you can record a sound and/or take a picture you’d like to add to the activity.
What’s also a great feature of BabyCorner is that you can customize it to fit your needs; create your own icons, select and remove icons that are irrelevant, and view up to 3 activities in the same row, for that multi-tasking child that can drink a bottle while you change his or her diaper. You can also share information via Facebook and Email directly through the app (though I’m sure your friends would appreciate it if you didn’t share about the dirty diapers). Email Auntie Suzy about a new tooth, and update your status on Facebook of how you are rejoicing because your little buddle of joy is finally taking a nap!
BabyCorner is a wonderful tool for new mothers, that keeps tracks of all the activities in a calendar, provides statistics of how long and the frequency of baby happenings, and illustrates the information in visually appealing graphs, so you can focus on being a mother and swooning over your little angel, instead of typing notes all day.
